Although we saw record temperatures this past weekend, nothing could be as hot recently as 12u Braz. The Orange went 6-0 on the weekend winning the Carmel Dawg Pound Classic, while also extending their win streak to ten games. In those six games, the Orange offense scored 75 runs on a total of 81 hits.

‚ÄčThe lethal Orange attack was led by many impactful performances including: Caulin Hochstedler (.588 avg, 15 RBIs, and 3 HRs), Noah McPeek (.538 avg, 3 RBIs, and 8 runs scored), Jack Brown (.813 avg, 13 hits, 7 RBIs, and a HR), Tyler Noel (.421 avg, 4 RBIs, and a HR), Nicolas Braz (.692 avg, 5 runs scored, and 9 RBIs), Ryan “Bubba” Cox (.563 avg and 5 RBIs), and Alex Billman (.500 avg and 7 RBIs). On the mound, the Orange relied on the arm of Logan Miller who was nearly unhittable. His stat line included: 8 IP, 11Ks, and 0 runs scored. In the state, the Orange are ranked fourth in power rankings and fifth in points according to USSSA. 12u Braz heads to the USSSA Class AAA State Tournament next weekend.

Another team that had a successful weekend was 12u Benbow. They recorded three wins in the Carmel Dawg Pound Classic, where they eventually fell to 12u Braz in the semifinal. The bats were definitely alive for 12u Benbow where many players had great weekends: Max Engel (.636 avg, 7 runs scored, and 6 stolen bases), Tyler Johnson (.500 avg, 4 doubles, and 5 RBIs), Carter Imes (.500 avg and 7 RBIs), Myles Holman (.727 avg, 4 runs scored, and 5 RBIs), and Brendan Albright (.700 avg, 4 stolen bases, and 6 RBIs).

Not every team stayed in central Indiana; however, as 11u Schechter traveled down south to Jasper. The weekend was full of great competition and even more fun. The Orange and their families enjoyed a day off from baseball on Friday when they spent it at Holiday World.

Our Team Prayer

"Dear Heavenly Father, we are so blessed to have the opportunity to play this wonderful game called baseball. We ask your blessings upon us today and that as we play and compete at our highest abilities we pray that you help each of us act in a way that is pleasing to You and that is also respectful and honorable to our opponents, to our coaches, to our parents and to the umpires. In Jesus Name we pray, amen."
